For our next project Alyse Rickey, Elizabeth Voelz, Sadie Miller, and myself are doing a service project called “Game Day Experience”. This project’s goal is to get kids involved in the sports programs in the community, to give them an opportunity to be surrounded by motivated and hardworking “mentors”, and to provide a positive and memorable experience. This project will be a spin on the previous project started by Maximus Gizzi, Jordan Reid, and Dawson Eastes. The kids who could be nominated might be kids who maybe don’t have a great home life or act out in class; essentially, kids who would benefit from a day with positive role models and learning how to be a part of a team. The chosen student would attend a high school sporting event, tour the sporting facility, and meet the players/ coaches, etc. To start, we contacted Mrs. Kehrt, the principle of Sugar Creek Elementary to pitch our idea. She loved the idea and gave us the go ahead to contact the staff about nominating students. We put together a google form wit information regarding the students and sent it out to teachers. We have just received the nominations back and we are eager to get started with contacting parents to set up dates for the kids to do game day experience! This is a sample of the google form we used to send to teachers: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdrIs4ssdMY99aikyh_KT__ipjWf8igJGWZdbWwJdPPYNGsfA/viewform?usp= pp_url This is a photo from Game Day Experience a few years ago !
